What does an assessment look like: A Comprehensive DCD Assessment for Adults

If you are wondering whether Dyspraxia (DCD) may be relevant for you, a formal assessment can provide clarity, validation, and a clear support pathway.

Our adult DCD assessment is:

  • Comprehensive and evidence-based, using standardised assessments and validated questionnaires.
  • Focused on understanding both your strengths and support needs.
  • Grounded in occupational therapy and neurodevelopmental research.

The assessment takes approximately 90–120 minutes and explores:

  • Motor coordination and praxis.
  • Functional performance in daily life, work, and self-management.
  • Executive functioning, fatigue, and regulation.
  • Personal goals and participation priorities.

Assessments are primarily offered in person, as this allows for the most accurate observation and interaction. Online assessments can be offered where appropriate or necessary.

The outcome is not just a label — it is a meaningful understanding of how your brain and body work, and practical recommendations to support your everyday life, work, and wellbeing.

Following assessment, I offer individualised feedback and practical recommendations, helping adults understand their profile, access appropriate adjustments, and develop strategies that support daily living, work, and wellbeing. The focus is always on supporting participation, reducing effort and stress, and building on existing strengths.

If you are exploring whether DCD may be relevant for you, you are welcome to get in touch to discuss whether assessment or occupational therapy support would be helpful for your next step.
