Assessment packages
Developmental Co-ordination Disorder (DCD) Assessments for children:
DCD, also known as dyspraxia in the UK. We can provide a comprehensive assessment and report. We work closely with paediatricians to obtain a diagnosis You will need to attend the assessment clinic in which is just outside Hitchin.
Sensory Processing Analysis for children (pre or post-diagnosis):
Sensory processing difficulties are commonly associated with neurodiverse conditions; however, your child does not need a formal diagnosis to obtain this assessment. We will provide a comprehensive assessment and report focusing on how sensory processing difficulties impact how your child carries out daily living activities at home and at school. This assessment is completed online, including the 45-minute consultation via face-to-face or online.
Handwriting assessment package:
Most people with neurodiverse conditions will have handwriting difficulties. This can include difficulties with letter formation, speed and legibility. We can provide an assessment and report using standardised tests and observations. The assessment will take about 1 hour and is completed just outside Hitchin clinic. A report will be generated which can be shared with schools.
Fine motor assessment package:
A full analysis of your child’s fine motor skills including handwriting (pre-writing skills). This assessment take up to 1.5 hours and a brief report with recommendations will be completed.
Primitive Reflex Assessments:
Some children and adults have retained reflexes which can impact on daily life, mobility, accessing education, behavioural and social difficulties as well as many other problems. We can help you understand which reflexes are not integrated and develop a programme of exercises which can be incorporated into sensory breaks and circuits.
The assessment takes one hour and will include a handover about primitive reflexes.
Interoception Awareness assessment:
This assessment helps us to understand a child’s unique interoceptive experience, which can offer valuable insights that are necessary for providing respectful and meaningful support at home and at school. This assessment takes about 1 hour and includes a carer’s questionnaire as well as a brief summary report and recommendations.
Herts Beds Comprehensive Neuro Affirming Assessment:
Analysis of your child’s strengths and limitations in occupational performance to understand what is supporting or hindering performance both at home and in education. We will use a range of assessments.
School observation:
One-off assessment in your child’s school environment to observe how they carry out their learning activities. Can observe specific classroom activities such as fine motor intervention, PE or Maths. A report will be completed with recommendations.

Intervention packages
Cognitive Orientation to Occupational Performance:
10 sessions of direct therapy, including goal setting and access to YouTube videos and handouts.
Parent Training and Coaching:
Coaching-style intervention to help understand how best to support your child in their daily living activities and sensory processing.
Goal Setting Session – What matters to you:
To understand what is important to you and your child so we can ensure we are offering the right intervention service. We use a standardised outcome measure to help demonstrate changes in occupational performance skills.
Depending on your needs, we have intervention packages available to support your child. These packages are usually 6-12 sessions with additional resources, handouts and programmes.

Following a diagnosis of Dyspraxia, ADHD or Autism, we can support you and your child. We can offer a 1-hour parenting coaching session to explore barriers to participation and help you understand sensory processing issues and executive functioning difficulties. We can also offer sessions to your child about what the diagnosis means to them, helping them to understand their strengths, sensory needs, body and brain to allow them to fully participate in everyday life.
